A cave with scale and history

Mramornica was described by travel writer Alberto Fortis in 1770. The main chamber is known for monumental stalagmites, some reported at around 13 metres high, and for the depth and complexity of its karst formations.

The experience begins with a descent from daylight into cooler air. Railings and visitor paths reveal the accessible parts of the chamber while leaving deeper sections in darkness. It is an attraction that works for families, geology-minded travellers and anyone seeking a different side of Istria.
