A constellation of small places

Brtonigla is the cultural and wine-centred heart, with St. Zeno church, St. Roch traditions and the Aleksandar Rukavina legacy. Nova Vas opens toward Škarline, Mramornica and the historic Sveti Juraj site. Radini and Fiorini retain the quieter scale of rural Istria.

Karigador changes the mood completely. The landscape flattens, pine and limestone meet the water, and the day ends in a maritime register. It is not a grand resort coastline — and that is precisely its value for a destination built on intimacy.

History without turning the place into a museum

The best interpretation connects churches, archaeological remains and village life to what visitors can still see today. Heritage should feel inhabited: a square in the afternoon, a feast day, an artist’s studio, a path that was used long before it became a trail.
